Balloony McBalloonface is owned and operated by Robertson Family aka “Team Robbo”. They are based in Sydney, Australia and do a lot of flying around Australia and internationally.

Andrew Robertson – Pilot

andrewAndrew started ballooning in 1978, at the age of 4, when his father, Rob, started ballooning in South Australia. His first balloon flight was in the Adelaide Hills with Australian ballooning legend Phil Hanson.

In 1994, Andrew gained his private license. A couple of years later he also gained his Instructor and Commercial licences.

Andrew is a very keen competition pilot. He has competed at all Australian National Championships in the last 20 years (normally comes 4th) and competed at the World Championships in 2006 and 2012. Andrew recently represented Australia at the 2018 World Championships in August in Austria, coming in 23rd place.

Kath Robertson – Crew Chief & Photographer

kathKath began ballooning in the late 1980s and has been very active in competition ballooning ever since. She has been the navigator and crew chief at countless Australian National and World Championships.

Kath is also the team’s offical photographer. In recent years she has become on of Australia’s leading balloon photographers and in 2016 she was the Australian Balloon Team’s official photographer at the World Championships in Saga, Japan.

James Robertson – Student Pilot and Crew

jamesJames is a 3rd generation balloonist. He had his first flight in a balloon when he was only a few months old. James is one of Australia’s youngest student balloon pilots, having received his student licences on his 15th birthday. Now that he is 16, he should be getting his pilot’s licence very soon.
